Heath Ledger's co-stars remember caring father
It's been five months since Heath Ledger passed away, and although the media wants a "dark story," co-stars say that just isn't the man they knew. Speaking at Sunday's press day for The Dark Knight, which opens July 18th, Gary Oldman reminisced about how during breaks in filming, Heath would "sit on the curbside ... laugh and talk about his daughter Matilda [Rose]." The actor added, "I thought he was just a beautiful kid. I thought he was just wonderful. I had a real affection for him."
Co-star Aaron Eckhart, who plays District Attorney Harvey Dent opposite Heath's Joker, agreed, sharing, "Heath showed me pictures of [Matilda] ... [he] would come in and say she did this and she did that."
Heath passed away from an accidental prescription pill overdose on January 22nd, 2008. Matilda, now 2 ½, is his daughter with actress Michelle Williams.
