Carlos Guillen Welcomes First Daughter; Wife Hospitalized With Complications

Detroit Tigers' Carlos Guillen was on cloud nine last week when he and wife Amelia welcomed daughter Camelia Jose Guillen on Monday, July 7th, but the bliss was short-lived. The 32-year-old third baseman has temporarily left the team to be with his wife, who was hospitalized earlier this week due to complications following the birth. Tigers manager Jim Leyland informed reporters that it "appears that everything is okay, and that's the most important thing."

Camelia is the first daughter for Carlos and Amelia, who are also parents to sons Alfonso, 8, and Isaac, 5.
